A Multi-Line System That Grows With You

PhoneValet was designed from the start to be a multi-line system. Each PhoneValet package enables all of your extension telephones connected to one line. If you need more than one line to handle call volume, simply order a PhoneValet package for each line.

As part of the software configuration, you'll be asked to provide a name for each line, and that name will be used throughout the interface. Home offices, for example, might name the lines Home and Work. These names are then used consistently throughout the application to make it easy to identify information. PhoneValet's multi-line capabilities include:

Call Log
The PhoneValet call log is multi-line-aware. Each logged call identifies which line it came in on. This is true no matter whether the call is answered, unanswered or placed; whether it is a voice mail call or a remote control call.

Logged calls can be searched and sorted by lines, and the comprehensive call log reports can select calls on the basis of line. That means you can easily export calls on your business line to a spreadsheet, while ignoring calls on your home line.

Voice Mail
You can request that PhoneValet only answer calls on certain lines. Alternatively you can provide a different outgoing message for each line. This means that home office workers can have a different greeting for home and business lines.

Because PhoneValet can identify each line, you can choose to return work calls before calls from home.

Call Recordings
PhoneValet supports recording more than one call at a time in a multi-line environment. Our intuitive call recording interface allows you to select the line you wish to record on, then start recording. You can tell at a glance which lines are currently in use.

Call Announcement
PhoneValet's on-screen announcements identify line information. Spoken announcements state the line on which the call is ringing ("Call from Andrew Jackson on line 3").

PhoneValet presents both on-screen and spoken announcements that include the line names you specify. In your installation you might hear the line announced (or see it presented) as "the private line" or "the home line" or "line G" — the choice is yours.

Remote Control
All Remote Control scripts are provided with the line name (or names) in use. That means your remote controls can present different information to callers on different lines or could choose to refuse service to certain lines entirely. (Remote controls are also provided with the calling name and number for the same purposes.)

Dialing Services
Calls can be placed on any line. PhoneValet sets up the dial then waits for you to pick up the phone when you're ready. At that point it detects which line you have picked up and dials the call on that line. There is no need for complex pre-selection of the line you wish to use.

AppleScript
All AppleScripts launched by PhoneValet receive line information in a multi-line environment. Moreover, PhoneValet receives information about how many of the other lines are in use. That means your AppleScripts can target specific actions for when no lines are in use or when the first line is picked up.
