PhoneValet Message Center Enhances Telephone-User-Interface To Support Voice Mail Management Over The Phone
Ottawa, CANADA - (August 12, 2004) - Parliant Corporation, world leading computer telephony developer of MacWorld Best-Of-Show award-winning PhoneValet Message Center (PVMC), today announces the release of a free software upgrade with significant enhancements to PVMC's telephone user interface. Users of PVMC will now enjoy full message management features over the phone, including the ability to listen to, save and delete recent messages, as well as capabilities for management of historical messages listed in PVMC's permanent call history.
The original release of PVMC created a new paradigm for dealing with calls and messages while away from your home base: notifications of calls find you through emails to your home, work, cell phone or pager. Today's release complements those existing message management avenues by adding the ability to call in to manage messages. Today's new message management features advance PhoneValet's already exciting telephone user interface which boasts an intuitive way to call in and launch administrative tasks, listen to information (e.g. web pages or calendar events) spoken over the telephone and listen to pre-recorded audio files.
"With the addition of today's new telephone user interface features, PVMC enables on-demand access to messages and improved message management from away," said Kevin Ford, CEO of Parliant Corporation. "Many of our customers want to be able to manage their messages as well as control their Mac-based home controllers while on extended vacations, and this major enhancement to our telephone user interface makes that possible. Much more than an answering machine, PhoneValet is helping our customers stay productive even when they can't be at the screen and keyboard."
Today's release also adds the capability to interact with email servers requiring encryption and password authentication, bundles integration scripts allowing logging of incoming calls directly into Now Contact and Up-to-Date's database, and also provides a remote-control script to call in and check today's Now Up-to-Date events.
About PhoneValet Message Center
More than an answering machine, PVMC is the invention that turns any Apple computer running Mac OS X into a telephone communications hub for homes and small businesses. Winner of a prestigious MacWorld Magazine Best of Show award, PhoneValet Message Center includes the hardware and software to do the work of a skilled staffer, greeting callers professionally, announcing each call by voice and on the screen, and permitting the call to be recorded in whole or in part.
Your Macintosh can now provide multi-line multi-mailbox voice mail, conversation recording, a searchable call history, talking caller id, caller-activated AppleScripting, a fax controller and voice dialing. Parliant's PVMC does all of this, simply, intuitively and elegantly, in the spirit of the Macintosh. PVMC gives a Mac the telephony capabilities the Apple community has always wanted but could never get. Parliant extends Apple's digital hub paradigm to include telephony.
PhoneValet Message Center is currently priced at $199.95. Today's release (version 2.0f) is a free upgrade available for download from our website at www.parliant.com.
